PREVAC Stationary System

Improved Performance and Servicing for Low Pressure Chillers

Why is the PREVAC Needed for Low Pressure Chillers?

Prevention of Vacuum

The Problem

The Solution

prevacplus.jpg

Due to the nature of the refrigerant, low pressure chillers enter a vacuum when they are idle in standby. Air and moisture will enter a chiller in vacuum, causing a variety of problems:

  • Air in the chillers causes hard startups and surging

  • Moisture creates refrigerant acidification, jeopardizing internal components and refrigerant

  • Excessive use of the chiller purge unit, shortening its lifespan

These problems prevent the chiller from performing its critical operations effectively. They can lead to chiller downtime, shortened equipment lifespan and servicing headaches.

Prevac pressure seals a chiller at 0.00 psig, preventing it from going into a vacuum while in standby and keeping the air and moisture from ever entering the system.

This means when it's time to start up the chillers after a long winter, they will be miles ahead of where they would be without the Prevac keeping them out of vacuum.

Faster, Safer Servicing

The pressurization technology in the Prevac system also allows for assistance in servicing chillers.

  • Perform minor repairs at 0.00 psig to prevent refrigerant losses, without the need for portable pressurizers

  • Improve response time for leak repairs, minimizing downtime

  • Guarantee service personnel easily conform to EPA, ASHRAE, NEC and local building codes when leak checking

  • Eliminate the need for dangerous temporary high voltage and water connections
